I personally didn't manage to really catch a wave because of lacking mobility, but most of the others did, and I now know what to work on. 😉 Overall, a very good experience, with good energy within the group and very helpful and motivating instruction. read less

My wife and I went for a group lesson this week and loved it! The instructors were great. Thorough and absolutely for the safety, but also very chilled and made it a great experience. We both were up on the board and surfing within an hour! (Wasn't very pretty at first but such amazing fun!) There was a good ratio of instructors to students and they have eyes on you all the time. They create a really good group atmosphere where everyone is encouraging each other and having a laugh. I'm already booking to come back to Nazaré for more lessons in November. Can't wait! It was the first time for my son and I to surf, whereas my wife had surfed a little bit before. We booked a private lesson to ensure that our son could have a little bit more of 1:1 help. We started preparing & warming up with the full group (approx 12), then Chris took our family under his wings. Chris was a superstar instructor! He gave us great tips & techniques, prepared us super well for what to expect and what to do and… we all managed to surf our very first waves, and then some more! It was a fabulous experience. You could tell that Chris enjoyed his work and helping others as he would often support other group members after my family and I would reach the shore and get ready for our next surf. Overall, it was a superb experience, which exceeded my expectations as we all managed to ride half or more of our waves! Thanks Chris - fabulous experience! JP, Jodie & Jeremie PS. Most of us stood on the surfboards for the first time. The approach and attitude was professional and personal, the whole atmosphere was relaxed. We really enjoyed ourselves and would love to surf again at Surf4you school. But unfortunately we didn't have time. Maybe on our next visit to Portugal, we will definitely stop in Nazare. We can compare this with the other surfing lessons we had later in our traveling through Portugal. The prices are similar everywhere, but here were fewer of us in the group per instructor than elsewhere, and the approach of the instructors was the best. read less
